Introduction
Thank

Below you will receive some detailed information on our line of Stargate
O-Port® valves and Automatic Screens. With our valves we are mainly replacing
ball valves with our products but also replace knife gate or
wedge gate and butterfly valves. These replacements happen in those
applications in which these valves do not perform.
For the past twenty-five years our Stargate O-Port® valves have been
used in the pulp and paper
industry and for about 4 years also in the chemical
industry very successfully. We have supplied specialty valves in the
USA, Canada, Norway, Indonesia, India and Venezuela.
Big Blow™, Big Cap™, Big
Knife™, Big Screen™, Big Wafer™, and Stargate O-Port® are our
trade names. The
valves are used as blow valves, capping valves, liquor supply line
valves, screens, pump-, washer-, mixer-, or tower isolation-valves, lime
storage bin valves, liquor heater
valves, fly ash bin valves and others more, specially in
applications where other valves do not perform, have a shorter life than
a year or cause much maintenance cost.
We manufacture our Stargate O-Port® s in stainless
steel, Hastelloy, titanium, SMO, even carbon steel or any other material
available in plate.
During the past ten years, one theme has become very important for the
use of our Stargate O-Port® s, i.e. the possibility to use our Stargate
O-Port® valves instead of setting blanks. With a mill in eastern
Canada, we followed a project very closely which started about eight
years ago. The project
involved replacing all blow valves and liquor supply line valves. This
project had an investment amount of $300,000.
The pulp mill superintendent recently told us that over these years, the
mill has made several million dollars because of the concept we proposed
with our products and because of being able to work safely
behind our Stargate O-Port® valves.
It now only takes several minutes to close the Stargate O-Port®
valves without stopping production and lock them so they can do
inspection and maintenance on a digester, whereas it did take several
hours with production stopping.
It may be of interest for you to know that OSHA recognizes our Stargate
O-Port® valves as blanks.
As you can see, our products serve a tripple purpose: They
are valves and line blanks at the same time.
In addition flow can be controlled with this valve.
